Inner Preston is terrace country — Avenham, Deepdale, Fishwick and Plungington, streets of handsome red-brick with steep stairs, narrow halls and a front door onto the pavement. Chorley, Leyland & the south

Central Lancashire runs south to Chorley and Leyland, down where the M61 meets the M6 at Buckshaw. It’s a mix of Victorian and post-war terraces, big modern estates like Buckshaw Village, and villages spreading towards the West Pennine Moors. A lot of our moves run this corridor — a first home in Leyland, a growing family swapping a Chorley terrace for something with a garden. The motorways make it quick; the care stays the same.

Getting around Preston

Few places in the county are better connected. The M6 north and south, the M55 west to Blackpool and the Fylde, the M61 and M65 east — so a move on to the coast, over to Blackburn, or down to Manchester is a straight run.
